Hardscape vs Softscape
No doubt you have heard the term, “hardscape,” but do you know exactly what it is? Hardscape is one of the two key elements that make up a landscape, next to softscapes. Both are important for most landscape scenarios. Here are the differences between hardscape and softscape:

Hardscape
Hardscape refers to the components landscaping that are non-living or man-made. This includes feature driveways, walls, patios, steps, sidewalks, etc. consisting of materials like pavers, concrete, and natural stone.

Softscape
Softscape encompasses the living elements of landscape design: the plants, shrubs, grass trees, flowers, etc. More simply put, it refers to the plants. Softscape elements are complemented by hardscape elements, such as wooden pergolas, stone walls, tile patios, and brick walkways.

The Advantages of Concrete
- You will usually pay 10% to 15% more if you choose paving stones over standard concrete slabs.
- Concrete is relatively easy to maintain.
- Simply sweeping concrete regularly with a broom will help to protect concrete from the buildup of dirt and grime.

Protective Sealant
When we install concrete, we can also coat each slab with a protective sealant. This will help to prevent stains from infiltrating the surface.
